Brian Fitzpatrick represents my part of PA and was one of ?2 Republicans to vote against the Big Terrible Bill, after his office was deluged with phone calls.
I called his office on Friday and said to the young lady who answered--yes, a real person, not a recording--that I wanted Rep. Fitzpatrick to be courageous and compassionate and vote to have the full Epstein files released. I told him that these women deserved some kind of justice, and that it was within his power to help them attain that. I did not chide or tell him to grow a backbone, which has been the content of my previous calls.
The woman I spoke to was very, very interested in what I was saying and asked me to repeat it slowly so she could write it all down. I think his office is beginning to understand that he represents a purple district and that he'd better start paying attention to what we want, although I bet release of the Epstein files is important to the red part, too.
Anyway, want to encourage us all, especially those of us too decrepit and too broke to do much else, to use that phone at least a few times a week. I think it helps.

(40,608 posts)Calls do make a difference! Postcards, too! They pay attention to when their voicemail box is full or when postcards arrive in piles.
There's an app called 5 Calls. It has current info on issues & what's being voted on & even sample text for what to say when you call. If you want to share your location they make it easy to contact your MOCs. We all need to do more. My two dem senators haven't spoken out much against what's going on.

(54,531 posts)recorded since my reps are Dems and I call GOP reps in other districts and states that I want to influence with negative feedback. I have fake zip codes and addresses to get me "in the door" with the staffers who answer the phones and to cover my ass as a constituent in case they want to see of I am legit.
I got the idea at an anti-tRump rally in 2017. It works like a charm and only takes 5 minutes to get an address in a particular district from Zillow. I've literally called hundreds of GOP reps this way since 2017. I keep all my records and notes.

(21,382 posts)Not familiar with the district, but if recent special elections are a barometer, the only way for him to not lose is to switch parties. A lot of congress critters like him, Republicans in swing districts, are probably not going to survive 2026.
