Immigration politics turned out to be a weapon directed against ALL Americans

...not a way for people to live peacefully in this country, but a way to dislodge and remove them. Nothing but.
And now those same weapons that republicans spend our money on are being directed at us, advantaging the lies told about immigrants being criminals and aliens to claim 'emergency' powers to invade and occupy Democratic-run and majority cities; which, clearly are inhabited by more than just trump's political rivals.
Americans insecurities and economic challenges have been exploited by politicians and others so successfully that they're now comfortable turning those same xenophobic tools against all of the people who reside here - not just the people Americans have been encouraged by their leaders to hate and fear.
They've directed the same inhumanity and terror that's long been reserved for the hapless people who come across our borders to live and work, against entire American communities under the pretext of protecting them.
They're training for home invasions in American neighborhoods by militarized forces, like in Kabul or Baghdad; and the message from our government is, if you resist or protest, they intend to use the weapons and bullies they've assembled against ALL of us.
They're practicing up on a naval base that's said to be the launching pad for an expected military force of armed National Guard soldiers to occupy a U.S. city - all on a lie about immigrants being a danger to Americans; an imminent threat that necessitates turning our military forces against their own American communities.
They've weaponized their political war against immigrants, into a gun pointed at our heads as we work and pay taxes to keep it all going. Are Americans done with this republican immigration con, yet?
Or do they need a little taste of the same bondage and terror many Americans have acquiesced to from their government? Against the foreigners who work and live among us; against people essentially supporting our communities and country without the full benefit of the citizenry they contribute to.
Or will they continue to blame migrants for America's own cruelty?
...in Edwardsville, Illinois, September 11, 1858, Abraham Lincoln said:
"What constitutes the bulwark of our own liberty and independence is not our frowning battlements, our bristling seacoast, the guns of our war steamers, or the strength of our gallant and disciplined army. These are not the reliance against the resumption of tyranny in our fair land. All of them may be turned against our liberties without making us stronger or weaker for the struggle."
"Our reliance is in the love of liberty, which God has planted in our bosoms. Our defense is the preservation of the spirit, which prizes liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands everywhere." Destroy this spirit and you have planted the seeds of despotism at your down doors."
"Familiarize yourselves with the chains of bondage," Lincoln warned, "and you prepare your own limbs to wear them. Accustomed to trample on the rights of others, you have lost the genius of your own independence and become the fit subjects of the first cunning tyrant who rises among you."
...can we not see the tyrant at our down doors?
