Now Senator Schumer Wants To Shut Down The Government

Imagine that. When back in March he led a group of a handful of Democrats who allowed the passage of the CR when the vast majority of Congressional Democrats were prepared to take a stand to protect our social safety net and got absolutely nothing in return.

Hey Senator Schumer, the Bill has been passed that guts Medicare, Medicaid, subsidies for Obamacare, Social Security.

Now you want Magats to undo the Bill that never should have been passed in the first place without protections for our social safety net.

Hey, I yelled to take a stand last March but was told I was bashing Democrats, I guess I was bashing only a handful of Democrats. The vast majority of Congressional Democrats wanted to take stand last March.

Good luck getting Magats to undo a Bill. Passing that CR was the biggest mistake made in my lifetime. I am 78, I can make it through the storm that is coming, but I worry about the younger Americans who will die and have their lifespans shortened.

I'm going golfing, good luck Senator Schumer.

I think Schumer volunteered because he has no intention of running for the White House.

Although shutting the government down may not succeed in getting critical funding restored or pocket rescissions reversed, it will, for a time anyway, block funding for a host of heinous activities the Trump administration is engaged in, as well as draw attention to those evil deeds.

But it might also distract from the unreleased Epstein files.

I too was for taking a stand back then but now I don’t understand why they would flip-flop. They better have a good message because Trump can easily say Democrats are playing politics and throw the blame on them.

The GOP sold the Big Beautiful Bill a a big win for the American people. Shutting down the government for something perceived as positive would’ve been a mistake.

Now people have had the opportunity to actually see firsthand what it’s really all about - something
words couldn’t accomplish.

You can tell a kid over and over again how putting his hand on a hot stove will really hurt, but he won’t really understand until he experiences it himself.

It’s a painful lesson but hopefully a lesson learned.

partial shutdown.

WHY WOULD THE GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN?

Congress is supposed to allocate funding to 438 government agencies before October 1, the start of the fiscal year. But lawmakers rarely meet this deadline and routinely pass temporary spending bills to keep the government operating while they finish their work. If they let that funding lapse, government agencies must stop all work not deemed "essential."

due to him not shutting the government down. If he had shut down the government then DOGE could have been stopped from what they were doing illegally which was getting rid of government jobs that they had no authorization over. He will always be a spineless gutless worm in my eyes.

around with other resolutions. This end of September spending bill is the BIG one, I think..

Maybe forcing Trump's TINY HANDS on a few issues like: tariffs, Medicaid, Soc. Sec., EPA, HSS ( brainworms), and more can force some changes.

Just as in March, he had no obligation to engage in dysfunctional governance because, hey, elections have consequences.

Why should the Republicans rely on Democrats? Let them eat their own. This isn't Schumer deciding to shut the government and it is dangerous to frame it as such.

If they (GOP) cannot govern, it is time to stop giving them assists.

It's like investing. If you lose 50% of your money, you have to make 100% gain your money back.

Here's how Trump rewards the weak.
