A Visual Breakdown of the Trump Birthday Letter to EpsteinStory by Khadeeja Safdar, Joe Palazzolo, Kara Dapena
The Wall Street Journal, September 8, 2025
Excerpt...

Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, said Monday in a social-media post, As I have said all along, its very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.
A copy of the letter was provided Monday to Congress in response to a subpoena from Rep. James Comer (R., Ky.), the chair of the House Oversight Committee. Reps. Robert Garcia (D., Calif.) and Ro Khanna (D., Calif.) had pressed for the release of the book from the Epstein estate.

The Epstein letter has a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person. In speeches and social-media posts, Trump has often referred to himself in the third person. Here are four video clips:
The Epstein letter says, Enigmas never age, have you noticed that? and ends with A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthdayand may every day be another wonderful secret. Trump used the word enigma to describe Don King and Mike Tyson in his 1990 book and to describe Dan Rather in his 2004 book. In social-media posts and in speeches, Trump has often used the phrase a wonderful thing. Here are some examples.

"The gamine is a popular archetype of a slim, often boyish, elegant young woman who is described as mischievous or teasing, popularized in film and fashion from the turn of the 20th century through to the 1950s. The word gamine is a French word, the feminine form of gamin, originally meaning urchin, waif or playful, naughty child."

(6,488 posts)The rendition of the bawdy birthday message that accompanied the article WSJ in July was different than what we see of the original in today's release.
I am guessing the drawing in July was created based on a second hand description. There were more dramatic hips, and the signature appeared in a more suggestive location. But most importantly, the arcs meant to depict breasts in the July "facsimile" were very arced. They were like a woman's fully formed breasts.
The slightly curved lines on the original drawing, which we were able to see today, do not look like fully formed breasts - they look like the immature breasts of a younger female.
Aha!

(21,032 posts)It came from some journalist (?) in Canada and purported to be the orgiginal. The line drawing of a female body was done with a calligraphic-style brush or pen. The text was a block in the middle.
It looked totally fake to me; after all, there had just been several detailed descriptions of the document. It's no surprise that a fake appeared soon after. From memory, the text was a fairly modern sans -serif. The image released today is in a classic typewriter serif font, as is to be expected.
