Schumer, remember, isn't in charge of funding the government
Just as in March, he had no obligation to engage in dysfunctional governance because, hey, elections have consequences.
Why should the Republicans rely on Democrats? Let them eat their own. This isn't Schumer deciding to shut the government and it is dangerous to frame it as such.
If they (GOP) cannot govern, it is time to stop giving them assists.
