(17,728 posts)He's an excellent speaker and seems to really connect with the crowd. He reminds me a bit of Jimmy Carter.
We can use more young people in Congress.

(25,780 posts)He is a little too "churchy" for me. I'm wary but I'll keep an eye on him.
Talarico is a "deeply religious" Christian and was raised Presbyterian.[3][12] He is active in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Austin.[46]

In July of 2025, Talarico appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience, where he discussed the influence of faith on his political career.[50]

(144 posts)At the end of the interview she asked about thoughts and prayers & Minnesota shooting considering his Christian background. He said something like: thats all good but why blame (or expect) God to fix it. He has given us all the tools to fix the problem. It was one of the best responses Ive heard on guns.
Seeing the interview is worth it.

(14,994 posts)I believe our best chance is if, somehow, Paxton is able to beat him in the primaries.
Beating that vile shithead in the general election would be an easier ask of Talarico or Allred.

(17,745 posts)I think Talarico is more of what we need right now.
Allred already lost once, and that's not a good thing in Texas.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
