General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsYou know, one of these days, you're going to oversleep by a few hours.
Maybe you're not feeling well, maybe you had a tough weekend...you're going to oversleep for whatever reason.
Then you'll wake up, make some coffee, and drag you ass to your computer...and all the websites will be down across the country.
And you'll be thinking...WTF?
And you'll notice some commotion outside of your window.
"What happened"?, you'll think.
You'll turn on your TV, and you will find out that all of the TV stations are out, except for one local station that has a rudimentary Chyron flashed on TV stating that all internet and TV stations are out of service because TRUMP FUCKING DIED OVERNIGHT AND PEOPLE ARE IN THE STREETS DANCING SO HARD THAT THE VIBRATIONS CAUSED BY THE DANCING TOOK OUT EVERY PIECE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE AND BROADCAST EQUIPMENT IN THE COUNTRY.
And then, you'll go outside and dance in the street, preferably naked...like I'm going to do.

(11,550 posts)Of course, the rethugs there will want to be assholes about this, but we won't care.
Let them scream and yell. Let them talk about 'unAmerican' and 'not decent'.
I will not care. However, I have to say, I would be MUCH happier if they would just go ahead and arrest him, take everything from him, and then let him live the rest of his life as some of the poorest people do already. He must be made to suffer daily, as he has made others suffer.
Yes, we will celebrate when he is dead. But, I want justice. His death will not satisfy that for me.
When he suffers as much as he has fostered on others, then he can die.
(BTW, how's things on the Banks? Bad rips?)

(27,311 posts)My possible imagining is somewhat similar. I go to sleep very late so at my ALP I usually sleep between breakfast and lunch.
1# I imagine being woken up by many of my very nice neighbors celebrating in the hallway sharing the great news, if it's announced between those hours!
2# Although I face the interior superblock, and our sweet backyard...
the car honking might be so loud (I'm in NYC)- that that will wake me.
3# My sister, or a friend will call me!
I welcome any of these scenarios! 👍 😄
And tomorrow is quite fine by me!

Hahahahaaa, I could have a part of chocolate bar for lunch, either Ben & Jerry's NY Super Fudge Chunk, Chocolate Therapy, or Talenti's Double Dark Chocolate Gelato [which ever one I could find] for dinner, then late night snack - a double chocolate chip cookie!
😄 How does that sound?

(58 posts)My 103 year old mother passed away a few months before TSF got re-elected. One of the conversations we had in her last hours was how PISSED she was that she wouldn't be around to vote against him. This time! That's right, she voted for him the first time but came to realize her mistake

(448 posts)If this kind of talk enters the mainstream, the Democratic Party can kiss the midterms and 2028 goodbye .
I dont know if many of you live outside the deep blue bubble. When you only talk to those whose political beliefs run their lives and those whose politics align with yours, it might be easy to think and say this stuff.

(106,599 posts)It didn't stop him getting elected. And that's when the Democratic targets were well regarded, whereas Trump is increasingly recognised as a fascist all around the world. Fascists, of course, aren't popular with normal people.

(38,109 posts)One - we are focused on VA and NJ and special elections.
Next - is 2026.
It's a waste of time to jump ahead to 2028.
You are also dealing with a Cruelty is the Point Dems like me. . .
Policy doesn't win. We've had the best policies and results from 2008 onwards. But policies don't win.
Sparking an Emotional Response wins and building a ethos around a culture of emotional response.
The magapub electorate are FEAR based which leads to HATRED of the other.
Those of us in the Cruelty is the Point Democratic Club? Hatred will help us make people FEAR the other. Hatred of their Regime, their values, their fake christian fascism . . .
Policy and being nice and asking them pretty please with sugar on top 'pick me' - Loses. It's from an old playbook. Those teams don't exist anymore.
