WI-GOV: Crowley (D) launches bid for governor, warning Trump's 'chaos and cruelty' put Wisconsin at risk
Milwaukee County Exec David Crowley today formally launched his bid for governor, warning the Wisconsin that people cherish is at risk under the “chaos and cruelty” of Donald Trump.
In a two-minute rollout video, Crowley said he wasn’t born in the “halls of power” and recounted going from being homeless as a child, evicted three times, to being a homeowner.
Crowley said his story isn’t unique to Wisconsin and he “hears” the single mom in Eau Claire trying to find affordable child care, the union worker in Sheboygan taking an extra shift to make ends meet and the dad in Platteville working at night toward a degree.
Crowley dropped out of UW-Milwaukee at 19, but returned to school and finished his degree while county exec.
