... this story didn't really "take off" in Conservative media until recently. It is now viral. First, the tape release. When did it become available? I'm not sure... but it needs those images... Also, the story doesn't really "fit the narrative" perfectly... the victim is the "Alien" and the killer is a US citizen. But, to them, she is pretty and looks like "us" while he looks "foreign" - so that works. It did not happen in Chicago, but it is a city subway setting and the story can still be part of "CRIME!" being promoted by "left wing lunatic" Dems, who "let the killer out" ... so, overall, I think it works for FOX and their ilk.

He was riding the LR, she got on and sat in front of him and he suddenly jumped up and stabbed her. His arrest record includes robberies and assaults, but not a known murderer. The story has been in the news locally since it happened.

A single murder in a single city on a single day is not actually national news unless the murderer or victim is a prominent public figure. It's local or regional news. The idea that every crime everywhere should be nationally reported is an invention of the 24 hour news cycle.

This is a story because it plays into Orange Man's idioctic attempts to prove there's a crime wave particularly in blue run states; that's why it'sa national story now. .
