How to eliminate most crime almost anywhere.

Through any means available, regardless of political, social or economic systems in place:

> Ensure all citizens have access to safe and nourishing food.
> Ensure all citizens have sufficient housing accommodated to their physical and mental attributes.
> Ensure all citizens have adequate and sufficient access to health care.
> Ensure all citizens have appropriate opportunities to education suitable to their own passions and ambitions.
> Ensure all citizens have time and access to leisure activities suited to their physical and mental attributes and inclinations.

There are most likely more criteria to be included, but my brain says that's enough work this early in the morning. We can create whatever society we choose. Why continue to elect leaders who do not recognize the above? To quote Major Clipton from the ending of Bridge On the River Kwai, "Madness! Madness!"

Overdoses rose, crime went up, murders were higher, crimes involving children including neglect.

If hard drugs were not a part of America, we would have a huge decrease in my opinion. Since that is not an option, we need to increase treatment to serve those addicted.

Harshly.
Street crime is not going to be easy to fight when example after example of multimillion dollar fraud goes unpunished or gets a slap on the wrist.
It encourages risk taking on the part of more petty criminal actors.

Indirectly it does. All the remedies proposed in the OP reinforce the social institutions that corporate crime attempts to undermine.

But corporatism goes beyond capitalism. It finds ways to collude with and even control government, which, at least according to the capitalist dogma, is supposed to be small enough to be drowned in a bathtub. Instead, as we can see now more clearly than ever, corporatism encourages the growth of government in the exact areas that serve to enable their crimes.

My wife and I watch a lot of murder mysteries. Foreign and older USA stuff. We always look at each other when the cop asks, "You have a license for that gun, rifle or weapon?"

Sad that we can't even outlaw assault weapons.

What I understand from what the police have said in the city where I live (which has a high number of murders again this year), many are the result of arguments, domestic violence included. So I agree with you, human emotions are a contributing factor to crime. Some people have never learned to resolve arguments/disagreements peacefully, only by using violence.

The mentally ill, larking teens, crimes of passion. Those are most of what we're seeing now.

Even the murder of the pretty Ukrainian lady that has the Right in a frenzy - that MFer is crazy. No amount of troops in the streets is going to stop a schizophrenic with a knife.

Food, water, housing, healthcare, education and a job.

I would add internet access.

What you’re talking about is building a socialist state. That what we should have. But a hundred years of anti-socialist/communist propaganda from the ruling class has made that all but impossible in this country.
