Map of COVID 19 updated shots availability

I got my shot here in NC yesterday at a Walgreens near me. I was required to get a prescription, but managed that easily by contacting my primary doc on her office website over the weekend. My 39 yo son had to talk his primary doc into writing a prescription for him--also NC--but was able to get his shot on Monday. The county health department--here in Durham, NC--where I got most of my COVID shots in the past, is struggling with how to make this happen so that shots will be available without cost as they were in the past.

It's all over the map, folks, but I grabbed screenshots of this information--and map--from Facebook.

Walmart in TN. So far, they’ve been very good and keep a close eye on me for at least 15 minutes afterwards.

I made my appointment on-line with Walgreens, which offered several locations with dates/times near me--but not my usual pharmacy. Still, I live in Durham and the pharmacy where I went was only a few miles from home.

We are in Tennessee. There was no problem getting them as the wife is over 65 and I have an exceptable condition to allow it.

I signed up online last week -Senior Citizen-& went to CVS this morning. No waiting or questions. They are taking walk ins but that slows down the process.

I got mine at Walgreens in Virginia. Booked online, no prescription required. I just listed a couple conditions on the form and the system booked me. Showed up at location and got my shots.

It sure sounds like VA requires a prescription for the 2025-2026 version, as it's not currently listed on the CDC immunization schedule, although that could change after the vaccine advisory committee meets next week.

It says on the record they gave me comirnaty 12+ ( 2025-2026) 0.3ml.
It does say Dr. authorization required by they did not ask for it since the online booking system accepted my list of conditions. ( I'm less than 65 yr old).

Maybe it depends on the Walgreens location and whether or not they scrupulously check. I purposely did not book in person but instead used the online system. Might be the loophole.

If so, it's possible your insurance will refuse to pay it without the accompanying prescription.

I got a Covid shot last Friday at a cvs. I scheduled online and had to lie about health conditions to get the appointment. CVS called about two hours before my appointment to confirm co-morbidities since I’m not yet 65. THEN they asked me again at the pharmacy desk which is not private and was most likely a hipaa violation. I gave them 4 health conditions that I know are on their magic list. So, my point is, the shot is available here but if you’re not 65 with health concerns, you’ll have to lie to get the shot. Walgreens in MT requires a prescription.

We got our jabs last Friday, I was their 3rd recipient. We checked around and our regular pharmacy was thinking they would get supplied end of the month.
