It's well known that the general education system is pablum, an airbrush version of the subject personalities. In my adolescence I "worshipped" JACKSON, WILSON, of course FDR and ER, even into early adulthood LBJ. When all the dirty laundry about the KENNEDYs was dragged out, that was that for them. But then I found out that JACKSON was a genocidal maniac and WILSON was a raging racist. And now in the YouTube era, the tons of legitimately educational videos detailing the very human, horrific personal failings of anybody who can be thought of have demolished the concept of "heroes". When MAGAts accuse in Comments that we "worship" OBAMA, HRC, or whoever our Dem leaders are, I say that our leaders are only in the service of our *agenda* (Civil Rights, Civil Liberties, stewardship of the environment, Social Justice) and are not to be "worshipped" in the cult sense. Apart from dropping the bombs, HST emerges fairly clean, where setting aside Vietnam LBJ personally speaking doesn't.
