Many without military training can hit a target from 175 yards.

Military are trained to aim for center of mass (the chest).

It looks like it actually bounced off the armor and hit his artery and slide up into his brain.

I saw the closeup one from in front of him. Looked like the bullet went in the right side of his neck and exited the left, hence the blood pouring out.

Talk about your unintended consequences. Plenty of people survive a shot to the chest.

When I played the video in slo-mo, it looked like his shirt at the collar moved up prior to the bullet wound. Hard to tell due to the time between frames, but it was puzzling to me. This might explain it.

I definitely think that's what happened. He wore a light vest from what I read but trying to source this is difficult with all the current event links.

Could well have been a lucky (for the shooter) accident after a missed headshot.

Anyone in our shooting club could easily make that shot.
There are a LOT of very good non military shooters in the USA.

And there is nothing that guarantees former military. It could be a military weapon though.

If someone was aiming for center mass, they missed by a foot. No one would aim for a neck shot.
There are a million people who could make that shot and not miss

And, maybe the shot was intended for center mass and high, or else a head shot that was low.

I agree, probably ex-military, but the shot distance is no extraordinary feat.

I will refrain for other aspects of the profile I have in my head but I think it will not be favorable for us on the left and they should be resoundingly denounced.

They could have learned how to do this on the range but this was a very very angry person who had one singular target in mind. I just feel no one would bother without already prior experience. Too much work for a random.

at this distance when you dont have a perfect angle and you only have one chance is another level. Most sunday shooters at the range would not be able to do that under pressure.

But given that they also made a clean escape, its clear its not some random joe. At the very least they carefully prepared for it.

I have very little gun training but when I was at a friend’s house shooting with him I hit 10/10 at 100 yards with his AR and scope. Obviously the person isn’t just a hack but I doubt someone needs military training to make that shot.
