... but the Epstein story is different

Trump is used to shaking off criticism - but the Epstein story is different

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp8j3e5g74no

Donald Trump has called the Jeffrey Epstein story a "dead issue". But in a week of blockbuster new revelations, Epstein's criminality - and its consequences - continue to haunt many of his former associates.
The so-called birthday book of wishes given to Epstein in 2003, that was publicly released on Monday, has given new ammunition to Trump's critics, and it will also keep his base and the wider public clamouring for more details.
It may not be a proverbial smoking gun – an undeniable link to wrongdoing that destroys careers or supercharges criminal investigations. But it is concrete, troubling evidence of the close relationship the late financier and convicted sex offender had with the rich and powerful.

The story sits at the intersection of power, wealth, and scandal, and each of his flip-flops, rather than side-stepping it, is just adding that much rice to the plate.

Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell survivor testified she met Donald Trump at age 14

by Holly Baltz
Palm Beach Post, 25 July, 2025

A child sex abuse survivor from Palm Beach County who testified at the Ghislaine Maxwell trial in 2021 said she had met Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein at Mar-a-Lago in the 1990s when she was 14 and was once a contestant in Trump's Miss Teen USA beauty pageant.

"Jane," a pseudonym, is one of the few Epstein survivors who has said publicly that she met Trump through Epstein. She never described any inappropriate behavior by the president, however, and didn't say much more about the meeting, such as why she and Epstein were there. Trump has never been formally accused of participating in or knowing about any of Epstein's crimes.

Jane said she took part in the pageant in 1998, but it wasn't clear whether that was before or after the Mar-a-Lago introduction. Four 1997 contestants have said he walked through the changing rooms while they were dressing, according to a 2016 Buzzfeed report.

Trump and Epstein lived within 2 miles of each on the island and moved in around the same time — Trump in 1985 and Epstein in 1990. They have been seen socializing in several photos and videos.

Will Massey and MTG try to read the list on the House floor, as they said they would? The victims' list will be more reliable than Maxwell's list.
