According to a preliminary internal report circulated inside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, federal and local officials recovered ammunition with the rifle that appeared to be engraved with statements expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology.
But a senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation cautioned that report had not been verified by A.T.F. analysts, did not match other summaries of the evidence, and might turn out to have been misread or misinterpreted. In fast-moving investigations, such status reports are not made public because they often contain a mixture of accurate and inaccurate information.

Or can you point me to a thread here where someone is stating the allegation as fact?

(72,794 posts)There's no such thing as "transgender ideology".
To Hell with anyone who would say so.

(39,479 posts)That is some radical ideology right there.

(15,743 posts)Or that the shooter was someone who makes their own ammo being cute with the copper casings - or special ordered the ammo online, meaning that situation would leave a "paper trail".
The average person, even if they did hunt or was a combat vet, just won't engrave live ammo bought from a gun shop or sporting goods store. That's a recipe for losing fingers or an eye.

(60,320 posts)For a long distance shot, that makes it unlikely that a one at a time bolt-action rifle shooter could rely on the weapon system. Not likely engraved if the shooter (obviously capable amateur) wanted to be sure of the shot.

But a few things the GQP excel on:
making up shit and lying.

(684 posts)Antifascist and/or transgender ideology symbols? And how small are they to fit onto the side of a bullet? Is it this: 🏳️⚧️ (you gotta color it, otherwise it would make no sense)?
Is it this: ⚧️? Imagine taking the time to scratch that onto the side of a bullet.
Is it this: ☮️? Yeah, a person using a gun to advocate for peace.

(12,808 posts)Wouldn't that cause it to fire differently? Especially if it's being fired from a distance? That's another variable that the shooter would have to account for.
I know that Luigi's bullets were engraved, but he was shooting from point blank range.
