Shouting broke out on the House floor after Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) held a moment of prayer for conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon.

After the moment of silence, Johnson recognized Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.).

5. Actually, while I don't want to give her any props -

It would make political sense for her to bring it up. Kirk was from Colorado, and she did include the subsequent Colorado School shooting.

It's still performative tots and pears to look pander to for MAGA and appeal to the 2nd Amendment guns for every occasion types, but there is more thinking behind her overall statement than just the reported sound bytes.
