I've often said, instead of putting bibles in schools, it might be better to put Egyptian history books in churches.

I will say this, the Stephen figure (an Egyptian?) indeed may have been historical, and his family slaughtered along with him. In mythology, there is no clock or calendar, and people can be placed where needed by storytellers.
