Andrew Weismann on Lawrence

About the gun being found.

The entire record of a car can be traced from when it rolled off assembly line to its current owner.

That’s not true about guns because laws prevent that. Thanks a lot NRA and it’s supplicant politicians.

Why wouldn’t you want to trace the ownership of a gun used in a crime?

1. Now we have to find out if the bullet in Kirk's neck matches the "found" gun. Right?

We're assuming too much because they're telling us too little.

of FBI for delaying this briefing by 6? hours only to wait for arrival of FBI Director for the press briefing. Great six additional hours for the suspect to get away. Andrew Weissman is really taking down Patel for his grandstanding attendance at the briefing to say nothing, delaying the mission by releasing the video to the public to ask for help to identify and track the suspect.

He thought the guy wasn't careful because his shirt had an identifiable image, and the hat and backpack are also identifiable. Why not just wear a black shirt, he says.

Everything he was wearing could have been bought in a thrift shop over the last several months for cash. He's so "uncareful" that they don't actually have a good facial image of him, and their hours of facial recognition queries have apparently failed. His shoes with the imprint? Converse All Star lowtops, also available in any thrift shop. Compare the January 6 DNC/RNC bomber who was wearing very distinctive Nikes and has yet to be caught.

Now, I do think they'll have a lot of touch DNA that will be used to construct a family tree, etc. But in terms of appearance, there was nothing particularly stupid here. He would have drawn more attention to himself wearing a COVID mask at a MAGA function. Instead, he wore an American flag and bald eagle tee-shirt. I'm not following how that's dumb or uncareful?
