This dude was not a low level internet toad, he was popular enough for 3,000 people to show up to hear him

And he tours all over the world (recruiting fascists). He's made a lot of money, and there's vigils going on all over the country and world even. A lot of people liked him and liked him a lot. He's a reasonably major player, and TPUSA is major group. Bigger/more influential than Joe Rogan, but not at the level of Limbaugh in his heyday, at least in name recognition.

Anyways what I really meant to mention is that if it was based on some rival white nationalist, it could have been not to start a race war, but rather to just try to take his open spot atop the dunghill. But I really don't think that's it.

99% of the time, the perp is some kind of disgruntled loner type, and it's not some wild conspiracy.

At this point probably safe to assume the person is white, cis, young, and likely not an immigrant. These are all 'good' in the sense that his is the least marginalized group in this country. Further from what I heard that shirt he was wearing is not any sort of liberal identity shirt, in fact it may be associated with a disabled veterans group. It may have nothing to do with 'who he is', it's just a shirt but this is also preferable to see vs, say a Code Pink shirt.

In terms of calming down this country, optimally it turns out that the shooter is someone who had a personal reason to be angry about things Kirk has said. Maybe they are themselves a survivor of gun violence, or lost a loved one to gun violence and felt Kirk personally was responsible. Maybe they are ex-military, a sniper perhaps, with known untreated PTSD. But I think time is running out on it being a military person because military keeps good records, and given a shot like this, the military would be the first place they'd be sending the photos and doing facial recognition.

The last thing I want is for this to be "one of us", who has made some kind of written statement that he hates Trump, Kirk, and has espoused violence towards people on the right. That would be very bad. He sure as shit didn't act in my name, I can tell you that. This is NOT the sort of person I want to be associated with. I'm liberal, but I am not "far left".
