My contact with them has been positive. When I was a kid i had two friends who were LDS. They weren't goodie goodies but they seemed responsible and kind, especially for their age.

In several communities dominated by the church I worked and studied with lots of members, some I am still friends with, but in the shooter's case, there's something askew with the proposed beliefs.
