Bella Ciao... Gruenemann Sep 2025 #1
Per NYTimes, "Bella Ciao" was "written" (not engraved) on one of the bullets found with the gun. pat_k Sep 2025 #3

Officials say the cartridges found with the gun contained messages.
The authorities said the cartridges found with the gun that they said the suspect used to kill Mr. Kirk also had written messages on them.

One of those cartridges contained the words “Bella ciao,” Mr. Cox said on Friday. That is an apparent reference to an Italian antifascist song.

Mr. Cox said that an engraving on an unfired cartridge read, “Hey, fascist! Catch!” Another message said, “If you read this, you are gay LMAO,” an abbreviation for “laughing my ass off.”

I found a score, and am writing new lyrics.

Besides, the ding dongs don't understand Italian (they have trouble with English) and think it means dog food.

CIAO, yourself!

It was originally a song about working for a PITA boss. Go figure.

I'm vaguely hoping the "officials" cited by the NYTimes are wrong on that bit.

The messages cited by officials also include apparent references to online culture and gaming. “Up arrow, right arrow, and three down arrow symbols,” as described by Mr. Cox, appears to refer to a sequence of moves on a controller that release a bomb in the video game Helldivers 2. Another engraving, “Notices bulges OWO what’s this?” is a phrase used for trolling in online role-playing communities.

being a problem. This fellow was looking to incite a violent response from maga, which would "justify" the felon's cracking down on society. If that guy was smart enough to carry out this operation alone, he was smart enough to leave false "clues."

I found the partisan lyrics a bit depressing.
If you are a fan of "Full Metal Jacket" the message is both to die for your country, and to survive, so you can continue to fight.

I choose the latter.
I joined the Coast Guard during the Vietnam war.

And I ask only for time enough to master 50 piano concertos.

So, I am thinking of more hopeful lyrics for the song. It's quite powerful, and despite being written by "Anonymous," it was hard to find a free copy on the web, but I am practiced at that. Maybe more practiced than at the piano, but what the heck, it's for the cake of music.

Minor details will be forgotten as the bullshit war ramps up. Since it appears to be a right-wing civil war, there will be more spin applied to this than a helicopter blade.

A whole lot of shit is hitting the fan lately. Hopefully we are all "uphill" of it.

I used to watch The Untouchables and hoped that gangs would kill each other off and leave the civilians alone. It didn't happen, just one Valentines party.

Maybe the time has come.
