There were several well-known Republicans that flew off the handle when they heard that Charlie Kirk has been assassinated. Not knowing any facts, they declared that the "Democrats own it".

Excuse us while we wipe the egg from our faces.

It turns out that the shooter and his family are big Donald Trump supporters. They are Utah Republicans. They are Mormon. You can't get much more Republican than that.

The shooter was a MAGA.

This schism in the far right has been there for a long time and its been spreading hot and fast. I have been hanging out in these hate rooms for over 10 years and I'm telling ya, and not wanting to promote violence in any way, this is a good thing. People in California know that when a wildfire starts most of the time it only stops when it burns itself out. All firefighters can do, especially to fast host ones, is try and protect life and property. Occasionally those guardrails break down and you get what happened to LA. But, like most wildfires, they burned themselves out. This could very well end up being a good thing. Nothing fans the flames of hate as more hate, especially upon itself when it runs out of fuel.
