I got a prescription for the vaccine and got my shot Monday afternoon. Just a few hours of feeling malaise and a sore arm, that was it. Usually after every Covid shot, I have a very strong reaction, fever, chills, and a very sore arm with a rash.
I looked at my paperwork and I received the mNEXSPIKE, which is a new lower dose, resulting in potential less side effects and a stronger immune response. Yay for science!

With the benefit of years of real-world data and a deeper understanding of the virus, we explored if alternative vaccine design strategies could be more effective. mNEXSPIKE was born from this continued push for excellence. Its streamlined vaccine design aims to target key parts of the spike protein rather than the entire spike protein, and at a lower dose.

(11,537 posts)Sore arm today from the flu shot site, covid shot site barely sore. Ours was the Moderna mNEXSPIKE on our paperwork. We are both > 65, so no problems.

(23,137 posts)I asked for the mNexspike, but got the older Spikevax instead. Disappointed. They said they don't know when they'll get the new one in.
Went thru the usual flu-like symptoms yesterday. Not real bad, but I still had to lay low for 24 hours. I'm better today, but my arm is still a little sore.
