For the atheists out there, I know it doesn't matter. But, for a whole lot of us, there is a distinction and we'd appreciate not being compared to the bunch that thinks that when they die, they'll ascend to a Celestial Kingdom where they'll become lords in charge of their own planets revolving around the Planet/Star/Whatever called Kolob. If it sounds kind of like Battlestar Galactica, it should. I hear "Jesus" and my thought is: Christian.
Just a thought process on my part. Honestly, I cannot keep up with religious sects, branches, parishes, etc. Y'all have a lot going on for us non-theists to understand and sort out.

Yes, they have a lot of weird beliefs, but so do Catholics, Southern Baptists and Jehovah's Witnesses.

Don't even get me started about Islam.

Plenty of other Christians and Mormons themselves consider Mormons Christians, so take it up with them.
