Why the story about the writings on Kirk's killer shell casings was a total lie. My guess, right wing b.s..

It was reported to be a .30 caliber round. The shell casing holds the round together including the
slug aka the bullet, the gun powder, and the primer. According to reports only one round was fired
and that spent shell casing was found in the rifle that was used.

It appears the shooter was raised in a Republican home, with 2 parents, steeped in a
“guns are good” culture from a young age, and his brain was so fucked up by extreme
right wing gibberish of the Gyroper* movement of Nick Fuentes that Charlie Kirk just
wasn’t right wing enough and maybe that Kirk’s support of Israel bothered his antisemitism
@ the time time of the shooting that somehow it all made sense to him.

Mental illness and guns are never a good thing. Shame on all those people and media
outlets that promoted the lie about writings on the shell casings. And shame on Trump
and the different media outlets for promoting Kirk as some kind of good man but in truth
he was just another Rush Limbaugh who spread lies and hate for money.

* Gyropers’ image

“The Groyper movement has been described as white nationalist, homophobic, nativist, fascist, sexist, antisemitic, and an attempt to rebrand the declining alt-right movement.” Wiki

He was a good shot but made stupid mistakes right away.
Left his gun with prints to be found.
And his picture was all over the stairwell next to shooting location.

He was a good shot with some good luck.
The rest was pure amateur hour.

That said, I think it is likely that there are bad actors online who rile up young people on the internet
to the point they will start shooting sprees.

These are probably Russian and Chinese agents.

Sat Sep 13, 2025, 09:18 AM

If the FBI was just going to make something up, why would they choose obscure arcane messages like that?

The Utah Department of Public Safety said in a Sept. 11, 2025, news release that it could not provide further details on "inscriptions" featured in reports about the weapon and ammunition used to kill Kirk.

Then, on Sept. 12, Cox confirmed investigators found inscriptions on four bullet casings. Investigators found the casings alongside a Mauser 98 30.06 bolt-action hunting rifle that matched the description of a weapon that Robinson had messaged about with his roommate.

According to Cox, the single fired bullet casing read, "Notices bulges OWO what's this?" Three unfired bullet casings read, "Hey fascist! Catch!" with an up arrow, a right arrow and three down arrows, "Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao" and "If you read this you are gay LMAO."

Sat Sep 13, 2025, 09:34 AM
Sep 2025

If you can't access it, basically the markings (as well as that Italian song) seem to reference bits from a particular video game. The shooter was apparently immersed in a subculture around this game.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/09/12/charlie-kirk-shooting-suspect-utah/

In addition to that casing, which included arrow symbols, the affidavit said another unfired casing read: “If you read This, you are GAY Lmao.” The writing uses the flippant, sarcastic language of online and gaming culture adopted by other people accused of recent bloodshed, said Amy Cooter, a counterterrorism expert and deputy director of the Institute for Countering Digital Extremism. Cooter said the phrases may sound like gibberish to the uninitiated but suggest someone steeped in the code of the internet and video game forums.

The fired casing had the phrase “Notices Buldge OWO what’s this?” according to the affidavit. The phrase appears to misspell the word “bulge.” That is online speak suggesting sexual excitement resulting from a win or success, Cooter said. The reference to being gay echoes common language online, Cooter said.

The arrows on the casing reading “hey fascist!” are consistent with the button sequences used to drop bombs in the game “Helldivers 2,” a popular satirical game in which super-soldiers battle aliens.

I assumed that they referred to the initial story claiming the shell casings had "trans" messages on them. Which is, in fact, a total lie, if the WaPo article is correct. That story was used to claim the shooter was a left winger, which WaPo and other sources seem to credibly debunk.

That fits nicely into the reality that most competent FBI investigators have been purged and replaced with morons.

Again - unsubstantiated as a theory. But I’m thinking that’s what happened.

They would talk politics, Luke said, and discuss their “frustration with the system,” particularly feeling let down by the two major political parties. Robinson did not appear to like “hateful people” and “people who would talk down” to others, said Luke, 22.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said inscriptions were found on at least four shell casings linked to Tyler Robinson, 22, who was arrested early Friday in connection with the killing. One engraving read, “Hey fascist! Catch! ↑ → ↓↓↓,” a seeming reference, at least in part, to a video game that's been interpreted as a satire of fascism.

Authorities said the rounds were found with a Mauser Model 98 bolt-action rifle, fitted with a scope, that investigators recovered in a wooded area on the edge of Utah Valley University’s campus. The gun was wrapped in a dark-colored towel.

In addition to the engraving referencing fascists, Cox also referred to engravings that contained more obscure references.

On the fired casing, for instance, a message read: “notices, bulges, OWO, what’s this?”

The writing appears to be a reference to a meme about the online furry subculture and online role-play, said Jamie Cohen, an assistant professor of media studies at Queens College who researches memes. The meme has largely been used as a method of mockery and trolling, though its relevance to Kirk or the shooting is unclear.

But that's just a reference to it's diameter and has nothing to do with the cartridges. Which is where the power comes from to drive the bullet. That 30 carbine would never have been able to make the shot from the distance which killed Kirk.

I can see how it gets confusing for people.

Both the .30 carbine and the 30-06 are .30 cal bullets. One has a lot more power, which means distance and accuracy than the other.

For example in WWII the M1 Garand .30 cal shot a 30-06 shell and was a distance rifle.

The M1 Carbine, which shoots a .30 carbine was best at 100 yards.

Wasn't disagreeing with you, I was merely pointing out both the .30-06 shell at the far right and the .30 carbine are .30 caliber. The .30-06 is what was used in this instance and it's confusing for some outlets to just report it as a .30 caliber.

the bullet in Kirk's body is the same bullet that was shot from the weapon the FBI found.
Which means that ATF ballistics must give both a written verification that the bullet in Kirk's body has the same unique markings that exist in the gun barrel of the weapon the FBI "found," and provide both as evidence (not just the FBI's "expert opinion&quot in the state or federal criminal filing.

Don't be sorry. It's good to think these things through, both fact and opinion.

Fixating on pithy sayings on the cartridges is a distraction, but if they do exist, they might serve to strengthen any rebuttal of Right-wing claims that he was a Liberal. It's far more likely, given his demonstrated extremism, and his apparent adherence to Nick Fuentes' bullshit, that he punished Kirk for not being evil enough.

ON EDIT: I found a report that verifies that the .30-06 cartridges were, in fact, engraved, and "decoded", so there's that. But none of it is even remotely trans-oriented. The Right's efforts to deify Kirk are absurd. He was a malicious little bastard who repeatedly called for just the kind of violence that was ultimately visited upon him.
