Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."
"We hear so much about censorship being pushed by governments and global corporations and organizations. [...] Do you believe that there are powerful forces outside of elected officials, someone controlling governments, that are trying to control the flow of information and how do we resist that..."

"I really think there's got to be a change of government in Britain. And you can't... we don't have another four years or whatever the next election is. It's too long.

Something's got to be done. There's got to be a dissolution of parliament and a new vote held."
"You've got to point out to them that if we don't take action, they won't be able to mind their own business because other people are going to come and maraud them.

There's genuine risk of rape and murder. And the destruction of the country. And dissolution of the entire way of life."
Musk: "Unfortunately, if the fight comes to you, you don't have a choice. You have to fight, so you have to rally the whole... all of the people of Britain to fight for the future. And if this doesn't happen, there won't be a future."

It's astonishing Musk's been able to see anything much of the UK considering his only visits in recent years have involved flying in on private jets, staying at most a couple of days to tend to business interests, then fucking off to the US again as soon as possible.
He may have "seen" things on his social media platform filtered via his barking mad right-wing sycophants and acolytes, but only an idiot or an asshole would base a view of a whole country on that.
I notice the blowhard coward chose to make his inflammatory speech via videolink, not in person. A foreign national inciting the violent overthrow of a government is usually a fast track to deportation or worse.
It should be noted that his latest squeeze, "Tommy Robinson" (real name Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon), is also a coward who prefers others to do his fighting for him, and to pay him handsomely for the privilege.

(106,600 posts)Robinson has largely relied on donations to fund his legal battles and his lifestyle. These consist mainly of relatively small amounts from individual supporters, but Elon Musk, the world's richest person, "agreed to help fund" Robinson's "mounting legal bills" in January, said The i Paper.

2 sentences for assault, 1 community order for leading a brawl, 1 conviction for entering the USA under a false passport, 1 conviction for mortgage fraud, 1 for contempt of court (harassing a defendant and calling for vigilante action against him), 1 for stalking a reporter, another for contempt of court (after he lost a libel case for accusing a Syrian boy refugee of harassing (assaulting?) girls, he repeated the false accusations in a film).

(9,205 posts)It's no surprise that Mr Deport All Illegals was actually convicted of and jailed for being an illegal immigrant to the USA (well, except perhaps to his supporters, including Musk; no sense of irony):
Robinson was then jailed in 2013 for using a false passport, having attempted to use someone else's to enter the US. He had "previously been refused entry to the US", said The Independent, and borrowed the passport of his friend, Andrew McMaster, in addition to carrying his own.
On arrival in New York, "he was caught when customs officials at JFK airport took his fingerprints and realised he was not Mr McMaster". Before they could follow up, Robinson "left the airport, entering the US illegally".
After returning to the UK, using his own passport, he was arrested and admitted to the charges in court, receiving a 10-month prison sentence.

He also falsely claimed to Canadian immigration authorities that his place of birth was Ireland (his mother's Irish, but he was born in the UK), after which his is right to an Irish passport he holds was being questioned by Irish members of parliament and as a result investigated by the Irish authorities last year.
I mean, even Farage does his best to keep his distance from him.
