I have come to the conclusion that Kirk and his followers were the kind of people who think the film "The Stepford Wives" had a happy ending.

(60,437 posts)The absolute LAST thing they're going to do is follow some woman who seeks to take over the leadership of the organization their macho messiah founded. Of course, if she truly follows in her beloved Charlie's footsteps, all she is doing is being a placeholder until the next macho leader steps up, at which point she will step aside and melt back into the background where she belongs. For her to do anything else would alienate a lot of the boys who swallowed his macho line up to now. That might set up an entertaining power struggle.

(2,795 posts)She is hardly a SAHM. I would bet she could clearly handle Turning Point USA.
Also unlike her late husband, she actually completed college. That would somewhat undermine some of what Charlie preached.
From Wikipedia:
She participated in the Miss Arizona USA 2012 pageant, which she won on her 23rd birthday, and then represented Arizona in Miss USA 2012,[6] but failed to place.
In 2017, she attended Liberty University, where she obtained a Juris Master degree and a doctorate in Christian leadership.[10][11]
For the record, she graduated from Arizona State University, not just "attended" it.
She was five years older than Charlie, clearly well past the "wall" of 25 that her husband thought women should be married.
She was out of his league.

Her grandparents may have come over with the wave of "good Germans" mixed w open lower level Nazi in early 1953 to rebuild the GOP. But someone pointed out the dropped name was Sweedish, and I'm giving up trying to sort that out. The GOP is full of a million or more Nazi-American decendents. She is now advicating hate and protoviolence so I only expect trouble from her. I hope the kids turn progressive and refute all this but only after they are adults.

(9,372 posts)He was pressed to death because he would not plead. They could not "try" him if he would not plead, and therefore they could not confiscate his possessions. He did that so that his family would be abe to keep everything and would not starve. I would call that a hero's death. Think what you like about the witch hunters, but they did have enough respect for the law to make that work. Today's witch hunters are far worse.
