After reading a long article about Kirk in the Boston Globe

I have come to the conclusion that Kirk and his followers were the kind of people who think the film "The Stepford Wives" had a happy ending.

She's stepping out of his shadow in a big way. Making sure the camera is on her for a change. Emoting for all the world to see. I won't be surprised if she takes over his organization very soon and very publicly.

The absolute LAST thing they're going to do is follow some woman who seeks to take over the leadership of the organization their macho messiah founded. Of course, if she truly follows in her beloved Charlie's footsteps, all she is doing is being a placeholder until the next macho leader steps up, at which point she will step aside and melt back into the background where she belongs. For her to do anything else would alienate a lot of the boys who swallowed his macho line up to now. That might set up an entertaining power struggle.

She is hardly a SAHM. I would bet she could clearly handle Turning Point USA.

Also unlike her late husband, she actually completed college. That would somewhat undermine some of what Charlie preached.

From Wikipedia:

Kirk attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale,[8] and later Arizona State University, where she studied political science and international relations.[1][9] At Notre Dame, she played basketball and volleyball, earning the Matt Arnold Sportsmanship and Teammate Awards.[8] She later played basketball on the women's team of Regis University in Denver, Colorado, for two years.[6]

She participated in the Miss Arizona USA 2012 pageant, which she won on her 23rd birthday, and then represented Arizona in Miss USA 2012,[6] but failed to place.

In 2017, she attended Liberty University, where she obtained a Juris Master degree and a doctorate in Christian leadership.[10][11]

For the record, she graduated from Arizona State University, not just "attended" it.

She was five years older than Charlie, clearly well past the "wall" of 25 that her husband thought women should be married.

She was out of his league.

Her grandparents may have come over with the wave of "good Germans" mixed w open lower level Nazi in early 1953 to rebuild the GOP. But someone pointed out the dropped name was Sweedish, and I'm giving up trying to sort that out. The GOP is full of a million or more Nazi-American decendents. She is now advicating hate and protoviolence so I only expect trouble from her. I hope the kids turn progressive and refute all this but only after they are adults.

Contrary to popular portrayal, no woman was burned at or after the Salem Witch trials. Kirk might not have seen that as a sufficiently strong response.

He was pressed to death because he would not plead. They could not "try" him if he would not plead, and therefore they could not confiscate his possessions. He did that so that his family would be abe to keep everything and would not starve. I would call that a hero's death. Think what you like about the witch hunters, but they did have enough respect for the law to make that work. Today's witch hunters are far worse.

The Puritans were really bad. I think it's just come full circle. That particularly American to stealing from the poor and one's neighbors and cloaking it in Christianity.
