There are rumors that the HHS/CDC may limit the vaccine to only 75 and older.
They are going to try to make the argument that the COVID vaccine has killed kids.

(26,115 posts)They said they'd know a source of it by Monday and would give me the rx for it. I'm 73, didn't know abaout the killer 75 order. This is really bad. My sister is 70 and already has bad lungs, the same condition that killed our mom. I had a bad reaction when I had Covid and it really messed with my oxygen percentage. Mother fuckers are just trying to kill off the working class/poor any way they freaking can.

(16,890 posts)But you can get it if you are immunocompromised or have some other underlying condition. Coworker got his that way. But he also knew the pharmacist.

Getting mine in New Jersey this week, and my flu shot six weeks later -- getting it by Halloween has its antibodies fully operational by New Years.

(1,267 posts)I plan on getting mine this Saturday.
Can not get it sooner because I had chemotherapy treatment on Friday and my oncologist prefers me to separate a few days between treatment and vaccinations.
My doctor gave me a prescription (live in NC); this was before our Democratic governor, Josh Stein made prescriptions unnecessary.

(9,767 posts)I also was able to talk my doctors/pharmacists into allowing me to get the Shingles Vaccine early!
peggysue2
(12,597 posts)That's a two-shot protocol. The first one, then the second (a booster) anywhere from a month to three months later. Our pharmacist recommended three months, so we went with his recommendation.

(9,767 posts)I am so relieved to get this as Im not sure it will be available when I turn 50 due to RFK jr.
I had a grandmother figure who had Shingles and I NEVER want to experience that!

(12,597 posts)After witnessing the wretchedness first hand, I decided this was something I wanted to avoid.
She had it on her face, very close to her right eye. The itchiness/pain cycles drove her wild.
Good luck with the vax. My husband and I had no side effects, btw.
