Biden, 82, underwent Mohs surgery, which is a common outpatient procedure to remove high-risk skin cancer while preserving healthy tissue, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Mohs surgery has a cure rate of up to 99%, the lowest recurrence rate of any other skin cancer treatment, per the Clinic.

In addition, Mohs surgery is most commonly treats forms of skin cancer including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as certain forms of melanoma.

“Cancer touches us all,” Biden wrote in an Instagram post in May after announcing his prostate cancer diagnosis. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”

Hit after hit, he takes it and never blames, complains or strikes out. How much can one person endure.

We had it so good.

God Bless Joe Biden and the Biden family.

If the lesion is a melanoma which has metastasized there is a high mortality rate.
