The Martyrdom of St. Charlie of Kirk

It's been apparent for a few decades now that the right in this country has wanted a martyr of some sort. Someone they can rally around and wave the bloody shirt for. Sadly, for them, the left in this country generally doesn't go in for murdering their opponents. So while the left had JFK, RFK, MLK Jr., and Malcolm X, among others, the right had nobody. They tried here and there over the years, such as Ashli Babbitt, but despite their efforts, it really didn't stick. Committing a violent crime while getting shot isn't conducive to martyrdom.

But then there is Charlie Kirk, a man killed while simply speaking. The media machine sprang into action, with the full support of this government, and within a day it seems that a man who preached hate and division was a newly minted saint and martyr, Internet trolls called for civil war in his name, Faux and other conservative commentators coyly danced around the topic of calling for a pogrom on the left, and the widow figuratively thumped her chest stating that she is fired up and ready to go after "evildoers&quot wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

Never mind that the causes Kirk advocated for, or that what he said was vile, hateful, hurtful, and quite possibly the inspiration for others' violent acts. He has, in the eyes of the right, been beatified, sanctified, and apparently placed in a station just adjacent to Christ and the Apostles.

This is dangerous territory, because you cannot kill a martyr. Already we have seen people doxxed and fired for daring to say anything bad(ie the truth) about Kirk. Massive memorial services are being prepared for him, both in Arizona at a 50 000 seat football stadium and a memorial/prayer vigil tonight in DC, I'm sure all of this will be broadcast somewhere. Meanwhile waves of requests, 32,000 at last count, have rolled into TPUSA to form new clubs(Hitler Youth Corp?) on high school and college campuses across the country. In the House Rep. Chip Roy is calling for an investigation(and probably eviseration) of the "radical left". Stay tuned, more madness is going to come down the pike.

That's why the Republicans wanted a martyr all these years, somebody they can rally people around to commit awful deeds in their name. It also goes to show the evil mindset of these people, choosing to elevate to martyrdom a man who preached hate, deliberately sowed division, and worked towards nothing less than complete right wing, theocratic domination. He's not a very saintly martyr, but he is a perfect representation of the evil values that those on the right hold dear.

Great post.
Reagan was supposed to be their counter to the people you mentioned AND FDR. It didn’t really take.

How come Mrs. Ericka Kirk was so comfy
talking on TV about retaining her husband's
multi-million dollar PAC Turning Point USA?

Wasn't Mrs. Erika Kirk supposed to be mourning her husband's death rather than letting the American people know that she is now in charge
of their multi-million dollar Political Action Committee / PAC?

Perhaps not showing any grief after a spouse's assassination is part of the so-called Conservative Evangelical Christians' core values.

Crazy andevil. Go look at her pictures, including the ones before her husband was shot. She has crazy, evil eyes. I know, that's a pretty subjective viewpoint, not much to go on, but everyone I've seen with those eyes has turned out to be crazy, evil, or both.
