Sick of the Silence
I recently moved back to Oregon, and for the first time in over 40 years of voting, I registered as nonafiliated. I'm so disappointed in the do-nothing Dems. I feel like I'm a ship at sea hoping and praying to finally see the steady beam from a lighthouse, instead of sparce, dim flashes.
I'm sick of the silence. I talked to a friend of mine in the UK yesterday and learned that the narrative of Charlie Kirk's assassin being from the left is what the UK media is also reporting. When not actively called out and LOUDLY challenged, these lies don't stay on American soil, they go around the world. (Yes, I corrected that misinformation for my friend.)
I'm sick of the silence. On Fox & Friends, Brian Kilmeade suggests that we should start euthanizing the homeless, and he still has a fucking job!!!!! There should have been a LOUD cacophony of outrage responding to that! Instead, it's just another day that ends in Y.
My Great Aunt once told me that in our family, you don't become a Democrat, you're born one. Now, I'm wondering where that party is - the party of FDR, JFK, & Johnson. Too many of them have sunk into the deep pockets of billionaire donors and corporations, and they've let silence win the day.
I'm sorry if this post is negative. I'll probably get flamed or might even have it taken down. But I've watched our steady march to more and more extreme right-wing radicalization for over 40 years, and I'm just so tired and discouraged.

I defended Biden until the end, even though I was majorly worried that his debate performance would tank him. Then Harris got the nom & I was totally behind her & thought she did a stellar job considering she had 90 days. After the loss, dems piled on & criticized her campaign. She did too much of this & not enough of that, & basically just bullshit all around. I was pissed, & when Biden came out & said that he thought he would have defeated Trump, well I changed to unaffiliated that day. Not that it matters, but I think he would have lost by more. Why did he have to pile on?
I call my two dem senators once a week. Both are incredibly quiet about the fascist takeover of our government, & in fact Hickenlooper has voted for almost as many of Trump's noms as Fetterman & when asked about it said, "You have to work with the other side when you can." 
You give fascists no quarter. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
You are not alone being tired & discouraged. Maybe you can find a local group of resistors at the site below. It helps to know you're not alone. Plus there's us, here at DU.
