Trump Says White House's Lavish New Ballroom Will Be 'a Little Bigger' Than Original Plans.

President Donald Trump’s major new addition to the White House — a large, gold-plated ballroom annex — will be even larger than the original plans called for, he said.

“We’re making it a little bigger,” Trump told NBC News in a phone interview Saturday. “It will be top-of-the-line, as good as it can get anywhere in the world.” Under the expanded plans, the ballroom will be able to accommodate up to 900 people, Trump told the outlet, an increase of 38% from the White House’s previous estimate that it would have a seated capacity of 650.

The White House, in unveiling plans for the ballroom in late July, said it will cost about $200 million. Trump and “other patriot donors” have “generously committed to donating the funds necessary” to build the new facility, the White House said.

According to the initial announcement, the new White House State Ballroom “will be a much-needed and exquisite addition of approximately 90,000 total square feet of ornately designed and carefully crafted space.”

7. Let's put it into perspective. Look at Madison Square Garden. The ballroom will have more than 4 times the floorspace.

That's right. MSG has 20,496 square feet of floor space. The ballroom, with 90,000 square feet is 4.39 time larger.
There will be enough room in this ballroom to simultaneously host a hockey game, a basketball game, a concert, and a circus.
Let me not wax poetic though, only circuses are expected in the ballroom.

Madison Square Garden is host to various types of events. The seating is very interchangable and can change depending on the sport and/or concert on a given night. Seating in the Madison Square Garden is arranged in six ascending levels. The first level is only available for basketball games and concerts and not for hockey games and ice shows. This level is referred to as "floor" or "court-side" seating. The next above this is called loge seating, followed by the 100-level and 200-level promenades, the 300-level promenades, and the 400-level or mezzanine. The amount of seating various depending on the event. For hockey, the Garden seats 18,200, for basketball 19,763 and for concerts 20,000. The arena features 20,976 square feet of arena floor space.

Not just as a studio type court/auditorium/concert hall where he can bask in the warmth of his fans, but to hold actual "judicial" courts with his hand picked justices and representatives along with the administrative staff and a full military platoon standing by while he passes judgement on groups of liberals or other "bad people of the day".

So, nobody has donated anything yet. I have an idea: let's have the taxpayers cover the costs; yeah, that'll work just fine. To pay them back, we can lower taxes on rich people some more.
