https://www.reddit.com/r/complainaboutanything/comments/1ngyi76/the_charlie_kirk_doxxing_website_is_a_donation/So I got curious about it and checked it out. There is barely anything in there, promises they have 30000 submissions and youll be able to search it one day. But it currently has like 20 or so people. You click through the tabs theres like no identifying info at all about the website creators except wanting your email and all that jazz.
Then you get to the donations they all go to fresh crypto coin wallets.
As of right now they have made over $8k from BTC. Over $12k from ETH $6k in SOL. Over $5k in XRP. And two other crypto address Im not sure how to look up.
So these grifters have made over $30k in 3 days from creating a very very very low bar website and posting screenshots with allegations people were fired from their jobs on. Friday and Saturday, immediately. Highly unlikely.
It. Looks. Like. A. Grift.

On Friday, in the most extreme case of government officials witch-hunting those who disagreed with Kirks politics, Mike Morath, the Commissioner of Education for the Texas Education Agency (TEA), released a letter announcing that all Texas educators who opined on Kirks assassination will be investigated to determine whether sanctionable content has occurred.
What started with lawmakers weaponizing their platforms against civil servants has morphed into a statewide directive to hunt down and fire educators for opinions shared on their personal social media accounts. In short order, the LibsofTikTok agenda has become the policy of the State of Texas, said Zeph Capo, president of Texas AFT. Heres the thing about authoritarian regimes: Theyll take as much as the rest of us are willing to give them. Its no surprise that, here in Texas, the purge of civil servants starts with teachers. If you value your freedom, now is the time to speak up and defend the rights of all Texans to exercise their constitutional right to have an opinion on matters of civil discourse.
The TEA directive follows the unceremonious and politically motivated firing of two Texas professors, one of whom was similarly dismissed for comments made in his personal time and not in his professional capacity on behalf of the university.

(60,075 posts)I hope every one of those people sues and gets their job back.
But the website that says it's collecting names from random members of the public seems to be a scam. Which is a small bit of good news.

(10,356 posts)I should be a better person, but the thought of cruel, hateful people getting fleeced by internet scammers wont cause me to lose any sleep.
As a finger-wagging, preachy aside, if these would-be donors had listened to their better angels, their wallets wouldnt have deflated that much.
