Due deference to VP Harris and Sec Buttigieg- but these

past few days have been a stunning revelation to me as I learn the Charlie Kirk story / one that I am ashamed to say I was barely familiar with.
He was a major influence on young voters that flocked to trump. A huge huge influence. Perhaps even the reason trump won. For Harris and Buttigieg to drag up the Pres Biden thing to say it was a mistake for him to run feels hollow and sad and not worthy. To what end? To what good? Fodder for MAGA.
Read the room people. Our country is being consumed by evil and you want to revisit Pres Biden’s decision?
Where was your braintrust while Kirk was having his way on college campuses?

it’s their baggage to clean up? Do they represent many others who see the baggage as being an obstruction to their future? Ate there tons of people screaming at protests that there is baggage to clean up?

What does one have to do with the other. One is about internal party politics and especially with Kamala Harris where she was in all of that. Biden himself had said he thinks he would have won. It's not that serious in the end.

The Charlie Kirk thing is something even people on here don't seem to get. People on this site are still looking for elected officials to do this or that in response to everything.

Do you hear much from mcconnel , John thune and the idiot in the house do much other than make embarrassing comments to defend trump ?

Social media is full of Charlie Kirk types. It's actually a huge grift.

There are lefty leaning ones that people have complained about on here for being clickbaity . But that's how the Charlie Kirk types got attention.

This place is clueless when you look at what is going on in social media.

Trump gave a speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, focusing on her relationship with her grandfather. In the speech, she characterized him as "just a normal grandpa" and called him an inspiration.[13][14] John Mulholland, the former Guardian US editor, called the speech "part of a politically calculated makeover" while political commentator and regular CNN contributor Van Jones said that "The granddaughter came out and opened up our hearts" and said that she did a good job of humanizing Donald Trump and making him appear "likeable".[15][16][17] Trump herself has said that she was not interested in running for public office, saying, "I just stay out of that and focus on golf".[15][1

As of July 19, 2025, her YouTube channel has 1.18 million subscribers, her account on TikTok has 3.2 million followers, her account on Instagram has 1.8 million followers and her account on X has 898.9K followers.[23][24][25] Following the election, she was highlighted as a potentially important influencer in improving Donald Trump's popularity among the young, and a powerful ally on social media.[26][27]

Just turned 18 and she helped Trump win.

And McConnell? He's got about as much charm as a bruised, falling turtle! Elected officials have jobs to do also. It's the surrogates who do alot of the rabble rousing work.

So you Kai Trump who does what most American teen girls do with the extras that a person of privilege will have .

And then they show the most extremist bizarre attention seeking fools that they pick out among left leaning crowds. And many of these don't even support us (the democratic party). But this is what the casual voters are seeing. That's how they associate our side as losers. Not becsuse of Schumer who they don't pay attention to.

There are so many other examples of this.

Well, it's not just DU. Almost anyone over 50 is probably practically clueless about what 20 somethings are seeing on social media. And almost anyone over 20 without children or younger siblings is probably clueless about what younger teens are seeing on social media.

Unfortunately social media lends itself to being microtargeted to particular groups, and US society is highly stratified. I'm sure that the techbros have spent fortunes in finding out how to influence opinion among certain groups. The Democratic party better find a way to combat this or we will end up in the skibidi toilet.

Pretty sure that wasn’t a primary message but when you are asked a question behind a microphone, you kinda have to answer it. This is what the man thinks.

The race didn’t go the way I wanted either. I don’t think it does us any good to throw mud at Joe, he did the best he could and I think he was an amazing president.

It breaks my heart to watch his good work being taken apart by monsters. I can only imagine what it feels like for him.

But this is the reality.

Why do Democrats allow the future, why let books be published and discussed while current events keep going? Why did Harris allow Kirk to have his way on college campuses? Gross! History is hollow, sad, not worthy -- why don't Democrats stop it?

I think that books is going to be bought, borrowed and passed around by the 92% like nobody's business.

I don't think a lot of folks understand just how 'ride or die' the Black Women Base of the Democratic Party is with VP Harris.

They aren't seeing us - or hearing us. I mean at a high level - yes . . . but sans the violence of January 6th - we are as loyal to Harris as magapubs are to Trump.

I remember watching a book signing video of Buttigieg, just prior to making his it big on the national political stage. During his discussion of the book, he made disparaging remarks, out of context, about Hillary Clinton. Showing that side of himself has colored my opinion of him ever since.

Petty grievance gets us nowhere and there is currently too much at stake to waste time with this silliness.
