USDA considering economic aid for farmers this fall, says secretary

WASHINGTON, Sept 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture is working with Congress to evaluate whether economic aid might be needed for the nation's farmers this autumn amid trade disputes and record-high yields, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said on Monday.

U.S. farmers have missed out on billions in soybean sales to China as stalled trade talks halt exports, and the USDA's recent forecast of a record corn crop this autumn will likely weigh on a farm economy already saddled with low prices and rising fertilizer and seed costs.

Rollins pointed to inflation, high yields and the stalled talks with China as reasons for a year of projected losses for farmers.

.. snip …

The first administration of President Donald Trump gave billions in aid to farmers to offset losses from a trade war with China that decimated some commodity exports.

To paraphrase melanoma....
I don't care if you lose your farm...you hurt brown people, which is what you wanted far more than your farm.

Go get a job working on someone else's farm for what you were paying immigrants and lift yourself up by your fucking bootstraps.

They will buy up the private farms for pennies on the dollar and buy Congress critters or T to initiate favorable trade deals once more. Killing the American farm is a feature not a bug.

Make no mistake. This is republicon socialism.

The repubes lied about socialism, just like they lied about Cancel Culture. As the record shows, they are the party of Cancel Culture.

And the repubes are also the party of Socialism for the Wealthy. No dirt farmers will get any of our tax dollars. It's alleging to go to industrial ag corps.

Mark my words.

This happened during The Idiot's first term, as well. He picked a fight with China. They cancelled their soy, corn, and pork purchases, so he had to bail out the farmers. What was that saying about repeating things over and over again, and expecting different results?

BUT it will not get them the help they need to grow and harvest crops. It will not manufacture food, without workers. We are going go be feeling the blunt end of this stick in food shortages and high orices.

so the USA can borrow more money from China and other countries to give farmers more handouts. Why can't farmers pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop begging for more welfare handouts from hard-working taxpayers?
