Patel and Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff had a tense exchange amid questions about the Epstein investigation, during which Patel called the California senator a "political buffoon."

Patel called Schiff "the biggest fraud to ever sit in the United States Senate."

"You are disgrace to this institution and an utter coward," Patel added.

I half expected Patel to draw a gun during some of the exchanges. Clearly, he was performing for the boss.

The chair for a motion to hold Patel in contempt. . If this becomes the new normal where members of the executive totally disrespect the senate, what is even the point of an hearing ?

I remember the days where people from both parties would respect and fear being dressed down by a senate committee. Now, they don't care because they know that the justice department will not act upon it.
