I did my normal supermarket shopping trip this morning. When I passed the pharmacy counter, the "shot lady" was standing outside, smiling at people. I asked, "Do you have the new Moderna Covid vaccine?" "We do." "I'll have one, thanks." Five minutes later, I continued my shopping. That's been the story for all of my recent vaccinations. That's how it is in Minnesota, and how it should be everywhere for everyone.
RFK, Jr. can blow it out his ass, as far as I'm concerned. Everyone should get whatever vaccines they want or need. Period.

(45,470 posts)I talked to the pharmacy where I go at the Giant supermarket. They said they had both of them and that Medicare covers both. All of the last vaccinations have been very easy to get. As an old woman, I expect everything to get much more difficult because of this administration. Trump hates us so does RFK junior. I cant help but think of the speech RFK Sr. made in Indianapolis the day MLK was shot. It was very heartfelt and peace-loving, it was the only major city that didnt riot that night, I read.

(29,417 posts)I spent Friday in bed though I was a little more functional by Saturday. It's how I always react to the vaccine (my doctor calls it a "robust immune response" ). I just make sure I have nothing planned for the next day.
Next up my flu shot but my doc said to wait until mid to late October for that.

(151,561 posts)We've been diligent, since before vaccines were available. We've also taken all of the other precautions. we both had Covid in 2024, but very mild cases with no severe symptoms at all. Paxlovid did a good job of damping it down.
Now, I don't know if our extra attention and dedication to following guidelines protected us. I have no reason to think otherwise, though. Medical research is a good thing and benefits everyone. Attempts to thwart it are just plain wrong.

(212 posts)Go online to CVS and you can schedule your vaccine apt. I did, and it was easy. I live in California so it may be easier than in red states.

Now, it's as easy as walking into the pharmacy in my favorite supermarket and asking for one. I hope that does not change.

for my first two shots in 2021. And was grateful to get mine: lost three friends during the pandemic.
Got the 2024-25 vax at a local CVS this past weekend. No waiting.

(412 posts)Home care companies no longer require their employees get a COVID vaccine. These are people who go to people's home to take care of the sick and disabled.

(946 posts)We wanted the COVID shot, too, but they said they wouldn't have any on hand until later this month. So we'll keep checking and get them when they're available.
