Don't blame the Democrats for the Epstein files, blame Elon Musk...
Republicans keep dodging the issue by asking why didn't the Biden Administration turn over the files when they were in power? Jeffrey Epstein was dead and they were left with Ghislaine Maxwell. She was prosecuted and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
But nobody was screaming for the Epstein files at the time.
Then Trump and Elon got into their spat and Elon, in a moment of uncontrollable anger, sent out a tweet that said "Trump is in the Epstein files". This was after Elon was forced out at DOGE and Trump gave him a gold key to the city. The scandal was born.
This awakened all the MAGA faithful that were told that the Epstein files would be public once Donald Trump was back in power. But it didn't happen.
For perhaps the only time in history, the MAGA and the Democrats were on the same side. MAGA gave the issue credibility. The Democrats gave it a political push.
But, the Epstein files would not have come alive as an issue if Elon Musk had not been fired and had not sent his tweet in anger.
So, it is rather disingenuous to blame it only on the Democrats.
