...any cable channels with sufficient reach are owned by the same major communications companies that own the OTA networks.

Comedy Central? Paramount
HBO? Time Warner Discovery, whose owner is a Trump confidante.

Look at all the other channels, they'll be owned by the same type of corporations. Or they'll be small enough that they won't be available in most markets.

Besides, the large cable providers themselves are subject to government pressure as well.

is somewhat independent, and cable stations ultimately have pressure to turn a dime for investors. Then again, MSNBC fired Matthew Dowd.

My maint point is, there is so much talent available from those who Trump had 'cancelled' - any entity that has the abiltiy to hire them, should.

The latest greatest cable merger needs FCC approval...Nextar refused to air the program so they could get that approval.
