Individual stations have the licenses. It’s true that some of the stations were upset with Kimmel but you know those are right wingers of course.

"AI Overview
Following comments made by host Jimmy Kimmel, ABC is under scrutiny from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which could potentially affect the license renewals for its local stations. The FCC does not license networks like ABC, but rather the individual stations that carry the network's programming, some of which ABC owns directly."

*** ABC merger
"this is not abc pulling kimmel this is nexstar, which is trying to merge with tegna to become the new more powerful sinclair, refusing to air kimmel on its abc affiliates."
