Obviously the repression of speaking any truth

is in full swing now as evidenced by what has happened to Jimmy Kimmel. It has been ramping up for a long time with corporate media repression of programs, "guests" being allowed on to spew obviously false information and receive no push-back or follow-up, events presented with a lack of historical background that would provide context etc.

The fairly successful attempts to control speech on college campuses and elsewhere about Palestinians and their struggle is another indicator since the powers of repression were mostly successful in framing nearly all criticism of Israel as being anti-Semitic.

Notice how there was little to no push-back from the repression folks about people making statements equating Palestinians as animals or "all guilty" etc. Others not in the "repression of speech/press" camp did try but the totality and weight of the repression vastly overwhelmed everything else.

So here we are where calling a fascist what they are is on the table to be forbidden. Putting up someone's past hateful words directly from their mouth and with video evidence is an act now targeted for repression and retribution. The authoritarians in charge openly state that they want to make criticism of the current regime forbidden. The authoritarians in charge are actively demanding factual images and presentations of historical times and events be taken down and not spoken.

The people engaging in this repression fought for a person to say hateful things under the idea of it being OK under freedom of speech but now those very words are forbidden for others to speak in the context of telling the history of that person.

Make no mistake the repression of the 1st Amendment is in full swing. They will determine what is "allowed" and as examples of how it will go we need only look to what happened in our recent past. When Paul Pelosi was attacked there was no end to the horrendous things hurled at him and his wife and there was zero condemnation from the repression folks. A reporter for Faux openly calls for killing homeless people and is able to wash it away by merely saying his words were "callous". No apology for the intent or idea but only for the choice of words.

The madness has taken hold in full bloom ever since the country began accepting a President who openly and provably spouts lies as easily as though reading a hurricane forecast. All kinds of lies and hateful words are to be allowed from them towards others but none are to be allowed in return. That is the ultimate goal of the repression crowd. There is now the full policy of repression of speech for certain people and not others that goes along with the authoritarians moves for repression in voting rights, repression of due process, repression of freedom of movement by denying passports, repression of display of historical documents and photographs, repression of access to vaccines/medications and medical procedures etc. all while a rabid base hails that their leader made the trains run on time.

But remember that just because someone is prevented from calling something what it is using a certain word doesn't mean that word doesn't accurately describe that "something". Just because someone calls a Nazi salute by a tech oligarch some other name or makes an excuse doesn't mean it wasn't accurate to describe it as such. Just because a regime calls it something else when it targets people to be rounded up based on skin color, ethnicity and language spoken doesn't mean it isn't bigoted and racist.

It does not take long for extremely negative things or actions to be proposed and/or enacted once criticism is severely repressed. We know from history how quickly it happened. The proposal by the reporter to kill the homeless didn't spring from a careless sudden thought. You have to be that kind of person to begin with who could be convinced or already holds inside themselves the desire to take others they view as a "problem" and simply eliminate them.

In a free society it is the ability for people to express open criticism, without fear of retribution, that exposes and defeats extremist proposals such as the reporter longed for. Indeed those holding such desires and beliefs usually fear criticism because it would expose them for their horrible beliefs. This is one of the main aspects of why they embrace repression and propaganda because that helps alleviate the criticism and defeat of their proposals.

So a reporter doesn't see, or pretends not to, that he was proposing "camps" where people deemed a "problem" would be sent and at some point someone would make a decision whether those people would be executed. Yes it is deja vu. But of course he used other words and he said later the words were "callous" and so those of means and power excused him. But even when you try to "dress it up" it is still what it is. A hateful desire to implement an extreme program of extermination against people viewed as a problem. A program that would be implemented and imposed by people of means and power upon those who are powerless and without means. All while being repressed from speaking out against the policy and those of means and power who are ready to end a life they find to be a "problem".

So here we are in America in 2025. The supposed "Land of The Free". Where nobody is supposed to be allowed to call the repression and policies what they are and people are to be repressed from reminding people that we have seen this already before. Someone speaking hateful words has the act of speaking defended while those speaking words pointing out the hate are considered as a "must" for repression, retribution and being silenced.

This is not, as claimed, about a free flow of ideas and debate. We are just short of 8 months in to the rule of this round of authoritarians. The agenda has been clear for a much, much longer time. That agenda is money, corruption and repression of people. They don't want anybody using words they don't like to describe it. They want to designate certain people and groups as "problems" to be dealt with in various ways. They don't want due process because people get to argue with words and the people of means and power don't like that.

The people with means and power believe that the "Land of The Free" means they should have complete freedom to do anything they please to the rest of us including any and all amounts of repression their money can buy. Imagine what they will do in the next years to come.
