Troops with medical shaving waivers to face separation

I was in the US Air Force and as an African American we were taken aside in Basic training and were shown the proper technique for shaving.

I couldn't even imagine what it would be like (especially with a spotless record) to suddenly be discharged over something as simple as a diagnosis of pseudofolliculitis barbae.

Hell it was next to impossible to go to sick call.

I saw a couple guys who must’ve had a shaving profile but not many. This sucks.

…with PTSD? Or, more optimistically, coming home with tech skills and stuff?

I could never understand why I had to wear a skirt.
The office was cold and drafty.
Women have had to follow the rules or be fired.
They threatened to fire my friend over her hair cut, too short.

BUT, These guys have a very serious condition.
My son got a very serious condition from this
kind of infection.

Crazy rules.....

Old age has improved it. Also my hairs aren't as course as they were and I eventually got used to waxing so that it didn't cause breakouts. Prior to that I used to "shave" and it was ugly. I would constantly tweeze out ingrown hairs.

My sons don't shave. They trim their beards. Shaving makes them break out.
