abc - america held hostage

once upon a time, before cnn and the advent of 24-hour news, the internet, and non-stop overhyped "breaking news", abc decided that the iranian hostage crisis was a topic of such compelling national importance that it launched a nightly program featuring ted koppel, the first of its kind, an entire program dedicated, every night, to covering the single news topic of the iranian hostage crisis. the program lasted throughout the 444 days of the crisis, then morphed into "abc nightline" afterwards.

today, america is held hostage by a criminal president who routinely breaks laws, holds congress, the judiciary, the media, public and private institutions in contempt, attacks free speech, insults all but a narrow group of americans, abuses and invent powers in order to undermine and destroy major parts of our society and economy that took decades to build.

i have no illusions or unrealistic expectations from the executive owners at abc/disney/whatever, but i would oh so dearly love if they took this moment to launch a revival of the formative years of the nightline program and dedicated a nightly broadcast to discussing -- in a hard-hitting but strictly fact-based program -- the radical and dangerous moment we are in, the risks to our democracy, to our freedoms, to our economy, to our health, to our society, and to the very fabric of america.

anyone at abc/disney listening? there's a huge market for this.

and if donnie pulls your license, you will be able to make back the money 10 times over through your other media outlets. imaging the movies you could make and so on once you can say *banned in the usa* or *the uncensored truth about trump* or *they tried to silence this*.

i know you'll just capitulate because given a choice between principles and money, you'll take money every time, but please, please consider this. history wll reward you, maybe, in the end, even with riches.

'Old Yeller' was rabid. Jimmy Kimmel is NOT,
but I can think of a long list of mad dogs who ARE!

(NOT advocating violence here, just speaking metaphorically!)

Ted Koppel built his career on it. Sadly, I doubt that Disney gives a shit about it.

But it's merely a shadow of its former self. They bumped it back an hour when Kimmel debuted.

I was spared! I had a friend from Iran and saw bits of pieces of it here and there.

I did catch the PBS series on the hostage crisis.
