I usually accept jury requests, but the rule being enforced here concerns me: we are not allowed to make disparaging remarks about public Democrats. I was about to accept, but then I thought of my own senators, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, and how strongly I feel that they should be voted out. I believe we must be able to raise concerns about our leaders, even if those concerns come across as critical or disparaging. Otherwise, we become little more than sycophants, content with the status quo. The Democratic Party has serious issues, and the stakes are high. Without healthy, honest conversation, which may at times be critical, we are effectively muzzling our voices and limiting the process.

We need to be able to make CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms of our party, especially at this time (between elections). So my rule of thumb is if the criticism is fact based and constructive, I don't vote to hide the comment. But if it's just name calling and disparaging with no suggestions for improvement, I do vote to hide. For example "Schumer is a clown" I would hide. "I think Schumer chickened out last time and I hope he holds firm this time", I would not hide.
