I'd like everyone to recognize that people of color have been the FIRST Americans attacked relentlessly by Trump

...and that if we end up completely on the ground, we'll scarcely be in a position to help the next wave of Americans targeted by this regime, if at all.

We made significant progress due to the brutal Civil Rights Movement, but his bigoted policies have given permission for closeted bigots to express the hate that flourished decades ago.

Imho, I don't think there are more racists, but, his "permission" has had them all crawling out from under their rocks for over a decade!
Thus their loudness has made them appear more numerous than before.

We know that made the news, but it should have shocked the nation more than it it did - and convinced the majority of the nation that he was not fit for public office (if January 6th and his 34 felonies failed to make an impression).

It's a pretty big swath of supporters. So I think it made it appear like less of The Nation than expected.

But who ever was shocked, and it was still a majority was really shocked, I think. ETA: At that Charlottesville demonstration. I was shocked, not really surprised, at it maaaybe bc they were not hiding their faces like the KKK.
And it was so blatant, a result of drumphf's "permission".

I expected it to be this bad, but holy $&@*.

Watching this in person is just so ugly.

I’m showing up for the 18th, but I wish there was something more impactful I could do.

…but calculating and cold.

And don’t forget Speaker Johnson, aka Li’l Pervy, is next in line. After him, Chuck Grassley, I believe. We really have no good options for even a fantasy team at this point.

The power struggle in what goes for the republican party will be epic. They're already shooting each other. It's going to be ugly for the country. With innocent collateral damage. The unlimited money oligarchs need chaos to obtain and consolidate power. Media ownership just might enable them to pull ot off..They've been planning this for 20+ years.

I’m hoping that at some point there’s a moment of collective clarity and empathy where the less impacted get more vocal and join the defense of the historically marginalized. It’s almost as if we expect the marginalized who are on the front lines to take one for the team as they are most suited to withstand the targeting, given the historical bigotry they’ve suffered.

Have heart, bigtree. Not all white people are Republican bigots.
Question: Are you OK? Or just at the end of your rope with it all?
