(11,012 posts)Just about how I feel this year, except the anger is just sadness.
My tree is still only half decorated, my baking isn't even started, and my Christmas shopping was minimal. People keep sending me poems about the Newtown children, and I tear up. Then there was a shoot out in my home town on Friday, and today the volunteer firemen murdered while they were being good citizens helping their neighbors.
Well, maybe there is some anger mixed in there, after all. But I just can't get up the energy to let it out.
We all don't need Christmas this year. We need some spiritual enlightment. One hopeful sign: While we were watching some of the Star Trek marathon on the SciFi channel yesterday, there was an ad that came up several times. Written on the screen was something like, "What if everyone did one kind act for every child we lost?" Then there were pictures of the Newtown children...
What if? It's a good question and one that I thik we all should answer.
