Police detain possible suspect after argument escalates to violence near merchandise booths outside the venue during first night of three-show run
"There was an altercation behind one of the tents in the unofficial vending area in which someone lost their life and two other people were injured," officials with the band wrote. "We don't have more information than what has been reported by the police, who called it an isolated incident, but what we do know is upsetting enough. We are deeply saddened by this and our hearts go out to all of those affected."
Hamtpon Police said an argument between several people around 9:30 p.m. led to a large, violent altercation that left three people injured, WTKR reported.
The suspect ran off, but police in the area were quickly able to detain a "possible suspect," officials said.
