Nice McGuffin reference

Oddly I was looking this up this morning

These are objects, people, or information that drive the plot and motivate characters but whose specific details or contents are often irrelevant to the audience, as the focus is on the journey and conflict the MacGuffin creates.

Ark of the Civenant in Raiders
Briefcase in Pulp Fiction
Rosebud
Maltese Falcon
R2-D2 with the Deathstar schematics
The Letters of Transit in Casablanca: The letters are a powerful tool that characters will go to great lengths to possess, but their true power lies in the conflict they create among the characters rather than the letters themselves.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
