Why the hell is MSNBC carrying Kirk's funeral live ?

Complete with a full roster of right wingers eulogizing Kirk like he was the second coming of christ, spewing right wing propaganda and not so subtle threats to our side.

For example, his wife saying that "thy will be done" now resonates with her , a not so subtle threat against her husband detractors and encouragement for crazed magats to do "God's will" which, in their cult translates to go after democrats.

To top it off, Trump is there and giving a totally disjointed and insane speech.

What msnbc should have done is not carry it live but instead monitor it for possible newsworthy things.

It annoys me to no end that the republicans have Fox News to parrot their propaganda, yet we can not even count on the equivalent to rebutt them.

You would think after decades, rich democratic donors ( like Pritzker, Soros, etc..) would have put together a channel to be the counterpoint. On the contrary, every time there is an event like that, MSNBC just fall in line and carry the water for the fascists.

Figured we'd wait til tomorrow and see what Rachel and Lawrence have to say about it (any coverage // I certainly didn't think they'd be showing it uncut *eyeroll*).

...as I know that as a Christian, the notion of "thy will be done" is meant to be that it's turned over to God, and not as some kind of threat; I wanted to see the context, so I read her remarks.

Per the transcript, she said "Eleven days ago. God accepted that total surrender from my husband and then called him to his side. More than anything, Charlie wanted to do, not his will, but God's will. And over these past 11 days, through all the pain, never before have I found as much comfort as I now do. And the words of Our Lord's Prayer: Thy will be done. God's love was revealed to me on the very day my husband was murdered. "

Whether or not any of us agree that what Charlie Kirk did was following God's will, I personally don't see this as some kind of a threat against Democrats or anyone else. She talked about forgiving the man who killed her husband. She talked about not hating enemies but loving them. She mentioned that the state would do what they do re: the death penalty for the killer, but that she didn't want his blood on her "ledger" to answer for when she dies and faces judgement.

If it was a veiled threat of some kind, I don't see it, but YMMV.

We need to call this what it really is, and that is a Klan rally but without the cross burnings and clothing.

When David Duke finally dies, he should get similar treatment by the logic of the GOP.

There wasn't one dime's worth of difference between him and Charlie Kirk. Only the degree of funding for the hate.
