The Federal Tort Claims Act has a carve out for actions by federal employees in their official capacity

I don’t claim to be a specialist in federal law, but definitive statements about the law always give me pause. There is no single law to understand. There’s a complex of pragmatic, legislational, precedental, and jurisdictional questions to consider in filing suit. The FTCA is a limited waiver of sovereign immunity to cover wrongful or negligent acts by federal employees. The waiver is limited and FTCA claims are complex, but i don’t think a belief that a suit is possible says anything about one’s understanding of the “law”.
